ACTIVE SCHOOL WEEK

10th May – 16th May 2021

Our first ever Active School Week was a huge success. During the week we are asking every class to complete three energise challenges. Thank you to all the children, parents and teachers for their energy, positive spirit, and commitment to Active School Week. Take a look to see what we have been up to.

Morning Dance Aerobics

What a way to kick off Active Schools Week with some dance aerobics to Shakira.

A Stroke a Day

During Active School Week, we were challenged to learn a new swimming stroke every day. This is a dryland activity which will help children to become familiar with the upper body movements of the Frontcrawl, Breaststroke, Backcrawl and Butterfly Strokes.

Check us out perfecting the back stroke.

Active School Walkway

We launched our Active School Walkway during Active School Week.

Our school has created a WALKWAY route which we use to promote physical activity and cross- curricular learning. The children really enjoyed using the walkway throughout the week.

Tug of War

Tug of war was a roaring success during Active School Week and a popular one with all classes. Our competitive streaks really came to the fore for this challenge. The 6th class challenges the teachers to a game and were glorious in their victory.

Morning Yoga

Both the Junior Room and Senior Room took part in some morning yoga sessions during Active School Week with Cosmic yoga and Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube which helped us to focus for the day ahead.
