Green Schools Water Flag
Thanks to everyone for wearing blue today to celebrate the launch of our Green Schools Water flag! We had a very successful zoom with 1st-6th class and Karen Foley, an environmental awareness officer with Clare Co Council. She talked to us about the 7steps to work towards getting our flag.
Today the kids figured out how many litres of water we use washing hands and flushing toilets. We also tested every toilet with food colouring to see if there were any leaks.
Each toilet flush uses 9L of water so 3rd and 4th class decided to put 500ml bottles in the cistern to save some water in that way.
Well done to all the senior room who are the Green Schools Committee for their work so far!
